What ends when the engagement ends

An install ends at handover, so a retainer is the only part of this that can still be running when you decide to stop. What ends with it, and what carries on regardless.

The install ended at handover

An install is a one-off. A Solo Install closes with a handover and a training session, a Team Install closes with admin training, and both close with a signed handover document recording the posture you chose and the residual risk you acknowledge. After that point you are responsible for how the agents are used. Nothing about the install comes round again, so whatever is still running between us afterwards is running through a retainer, and that is the thing an ending has to end.

A retainer ends, the deployment carries on

What a retainer buys is published: staging-tested updates and version pinning with ticket support at $350 a month, and whatever your tier adds above that. Stopping stops that work. It does not stop the deployment, which runs on infrastructure you own, on the framework version it is pinned to. Two things change when it stops. Updates stop being promoted to your deployment once they have passed staging, so it stays on the version it was left on, and the support promise goes with the retainer that carried it, so response within 24 hours no longer applies to your deployment.

There is no credential of ours to withdraw

Credentials never leave your environment, during the install or after it. There is no copy on our side, because there is no our side for one to sit on: Optaimi has no hosting product and never holds your deployment. Any access an install needs is access to systems you own and administer, so withdrawing it is a change you make in your own account rather than a request you have to send us. The mirror of this question, what happens if we stop existing rather than you deciding to stop, is answered on the FAQ.

What this note does not settle

Notice periods, minimum terms and anything else about how a retainer is brought to an end are commercial terms. They belong in the agreement that comes before any work starts, not on this site, which publishes prices rather than terms. This note is about access and about what keeps running, which is the part that can be answered from the published delivery model alone.
